About Me

Hello everyone. I am currently a freshman at George Washington University majoring in Political Science. I was born in Champaign, Illinois and have lived in various parts of the United States including Long Island, New York and Los Angeles, California. My family later moved to Seoul, Korea, where I completed my high school education at Asia Pacific International School.

During my high school years, I developed a keen interest in government and politics. This interest has since expanded to include areas such as policymaking, business, and economics. Outside of the classroom, I have actively sought opportunities to engage with and contribute to these fields. I have served on the boards of both the Korea Business Competition and the Korea Youth Investing Competition. In addition, my participation in various international debate tournaments has allowed me to connect with a wide range of individuals and broaden my perspectives.

Currently, my academic interests include exploring the phenomenon of affective polarization. To this end, I have taken sociology courses in both previous and current semesters. These courses have provided me with theoretical insights that I believe are crucial to addressing and mitigating the problem of extreme, one-sided polarization that is prevalent in today's society.

I am also deeply involved in a project I initiated, an online simulation game called "All Lives" (https://alllives.minseye.kr). This game, which is still in development and revision, is designed as an intervention tool to help adolescent students develop greater empathy. By "living" the lives of others through simulated experiences, the game encourages players to understand and appreciate diverse perspectives. This project reflects my commitment to using innovative solutions to foster understanding and empathy among individuals, which I believe is essential to addressing many of the challenges we face in society today.
